Investment Team

Neil Margolis
Neil Margolis founded Merlon Capital Partners in May 2010. Prior to Merlon, Neil was Portfolio Manager of Challenger Limited’s Australian Share Income Fund, having established the strategy in 2005. Neil joined Challenger in 2004 as a Senior Industrials Analyst from Alliance Capital Management where he held the position of Senior Equities Analyst. Neil was with Alliance for three years, and prior to that worked for JP Morgan Investment Bank.
Neil holds a B.BusSc (Hons), CA from the University of Cape Town and CFA.

Hamish Carlisle
Hamish joined Merlon Capital Partners as a Principal in July 2010. Hamish was previously Head of Research, Asia Pacific Equities at AMP Capital Investors. Prior to AMP, Hamish was a Senior Director and Head of Australian Banks Research at Merrill Lynch Equities. He has also held positions at Burdett, Buckeridge, Young and National Australia Bank. Hamish holds a MBA with honours from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Hamish holds a B.Comm (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA (Hons) from the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania.

Rebecca Greige
Rebecca joined Merlon Capital Partners as an ESG and Sustainability Manager in September 2021. Prior to joining Merlon, Rebecca was a Sustainability Manager within the Corporate Strategy and Sustainability team at TransGrid. Rebecca also held roles at Deloitte Access Economics and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Rebecca holds a B. Applied Finance / B. Economics and is a Macquarie University Merit Scholar.

Joey Mui
Joey Mui joined Merlon Capital Partners as an Analyst/Portfolio Manager in April 2016. Prior to Merlon, Joey was a Portfolio Analyst for AMP Capital Multi-Strategy equity funds responsible for investments in the real estate sector in Australian and Asian equities. He also completed internships in the Equity Research teams at JP Morgan and Nomura.
Joey holds a B.Comm (Distinction) from the University of NSW and is CFA charterholder.

Andrew Fraser
Andrew joined Merlon Capital Partners as a Principal/Co-Portfolio Manager upon its establishment in May 2010 and holds the role of Risk Management / Trade Execution. Prior to joining Merlon, Andrew was the Senior Dealer for Challenger Limited’s Australian equities team. Andrew originally joined Challenger in the middle office, responsible for unit pricing and accounting, before moving into the equities team in 2002 as a dealer.
Andrew holds a B.Comm.

Kirit Hira
Kirit joined Merlon as an Analyst/Portfolio Manager in February 2025. Kirit was previously a Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Analyst at Platinum Asset Management covering global energy, resources and industrial sectors initially before moving to the Asia team. Prior to Platinum, Kirit was an analyst at Macquarie covering the energy sector. Kirit also spent two years at AMP Capital Investors across various listed equity and fixed income investment teams.
Kirit holds a B. Comm (Distinction) / B. Eng (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.

Jack Dooley
Jack joined Merlon Capital Partners as Client Relationship Manager in February 2026, bringing experience from an Institutional Sales role at Interactive Brokers and Bloomberg. Jack oversees Merlon's distribution activities and manages key investor relationships.
Jack holds a B.Bus from the University of Technology Sydney.

Chris Hall
Chris brings to the Board extensive experience across asset management, superannuation and, recently, biotechnology. His career has included roles as Chair, Non-Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer, along with senior executive positions in Australia and Hong Kong at Ellerston Capital and Blackrock Asset Management, among other firms.
Chris’ current roles include Chair of BiomeBank, Non-Executive Director, Investment Committee Member and Audit Committee Member of AMP Superannuation, Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Member of Funds SA, Investment Committee Chair of Perks Private Wealth, Member of the Advisory Board to the LongTerm Value Fund at Tanarra Capital.

Vicky Binns
Vicky Binns has more than 35 years of experience in the global resources and financial services sectors, including 10 years in executive leadership roles at BHP in Asia and 15 years in financial services with Merrill Lynch Australia and Macquarie Equities. During her career at BHP, Ms Binns’ roles included Vice President Minerals Marketing, leadership positions in the metals and coal marketing business, and Vice President of Market Analysis and Economics. She was also co‑Founder and Chair of Women in Mining and Resources. Prior to joining BHP, Ms Binns held a number of Board and senior management roles at Merrill Lynch Australia, including Managing Director and Head of Australian Research, Head of Global Mining, Metals and Steel, and Head of Australian Mining Research.
Vicky is a Non-Executive Director of Sims Limited, a Non‑Executive Director of Evolution Mining, a Non‑Executive Director for the NFP Carbon Market Institute (CMI), and a member of the Advisory Council for JP Morgan, Australia & New Zealand.

Brad Soller
Brad’s career commenced with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Johannesburg and London. He then spent over 25 years in corporate organisations, including senior finance and leadership roles at Thorn plc, BAA McArthur Glen Limited, Lend Lease Group, David Jones and Metcash.
Brad is a non-executive director of Big River Industries Limited, a non-executive director of RWC Limited and is a former director of Bapcor Limited.
